I still remember when I shared my very first sketches of Kiki with you. I can’t tell you how nervous and scared I was – what if you didn’t like her? And who was I? A Finnish girl trying to make a children’s book.
The worry was short-lived. From day one, I knew that you were on this adventure together with Kiki and me.
Back in March 2016, Tom, Wojtek, and I were in the middle of developing Message in a Bottle. Our goal was to create the most personal, fun and adventurous personalised children’s book out there, but we knew that we couldn’t do that alone. We needed the help of the ultimate storyteller experts – mummies!
So was created the Message in a Bottle Book Launch Team, a special group dedicated to share feedback and ideas on the book and to help spread the word about the project.
I still can’t believe how lucky we were to find Victoria Welton, the passionate blogger behind Verily Victoria Vocalises and Victoria Visits. Not only she helped us to find brilliant parent bloggers to join the Launch Team, she also co-managed the team. She was coming up with fantastic ideas to promote Message in a Bottle in social media and outside, and, most importantly, she has become a very dear friend to us.
The members of the Launch Team were mummies from different walks of life, from the UK, Ireland and even the Netherlands!
It’s been 9 months since the beginning of the Launch Team. Message in a Bottle book has been released, and the Launch Team members have continued to give us valuable feedback on the final book and our website.
The time has come to say goodbye – for now.
It has been incredible to see the Team becoming friends with Kiki and to feel their excitement over the whole project. Creating a children’s book has been a fun, fulfilling and eye-opening journey, but at times also a lonely and frustrating one.
The Launch Team of over 50 people supporting us and wanting to see Kiki’s adventure becoming a reality gave us the extra push to cross the finish line!
We couldn’t have done this without you.
I couldn’t have done this without you.
